The Broward Center For The Performing Arts Launches Backlot Live

Today’s top entertainers are set to take Broward Center’s all-new outdoor stage by entertaining fans under the stars. With the increased interest in outdoor events by artists and audiences, Backlot Live at the Broward Center literally brings audiences to the stage door as they enter the Lillian S. Wells Backstage Parking Lot, an area usually reserved for the stars and their crews, now converted to a seated event space. Comedy star Rob Schneider, the thrilling concert In the Light of Led Zeppelin, a musical tribute to one of America’s Greatest rock bands with Best of the Eagles (BOTE), and the pop and classical crossover sensation Well-Strung are the first three events to go on sale for the new Backlot Live at the Broward Center experience.  Schneider kicked off the new venue on January 22. A household name, Schneider is one of the most popular touring acts in comedy and well known for his trademark blend of character and comedic acting. He created and stars in the Netflix docu-series Real Rob, which focuses on the day-to-day hijinks of his life. Schneider first came to prominence on NBC’s Saturday Night Live and won three Emmy® Awards as part of its writing staff. His films include Grown Ups, You Don’t Mess With The Zohan, Big Dadd, The Waterboy. Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, The Hot Chick and The Animal. A supergroup of six GRAMMY® Award-nominated musicians performed In the Light of Led Zeppelin on February 20. From start to finish, it was a musical journey through the best of Zeppelin classics as well as the symphonic orchestrations of Jimmy Page & Robert Plant and some of the greatest solo work of both men.
