March Is Women’s History Month – History Fort Lauderdale & The Galleria At Fort Lauderdale Present Women Trailblazers

In honor of Women’s History Month, History Fort Lauderdale and The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale will present “Women Trailblazers: Champions of Change – Broward County,” a photography exhibition from March 4 -31. The exhibit, to be displayed at The Galleria (2414 East Sunrise Blvd), will showcase six prominent women of today who are proponents of change along with historical female predecessors who helped to pave the way for our community. A ticketed exhibition preview and recognition ceremony honoring the women of today and benefiting History Fort Lauderdale will be take place on Wednesday, March 3.  This engaging 40-image exhibit will celebrate the contributions of outstanding women of today including Kareen Boutros, executive director of Broward Workshop; Lori Chevy, market president of Bank of America; Heather Havericak, CEO of Broward Health Medical Center and Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital; Jennifer O’Flannery Anderson, Ph.D., president and CEO of Broward Community Foundation; Stacy Ritter, president and CEO of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau; and Burnadette Norris-Weeks, Esq. of Austin Pamies Norris Weeks Powell, PLLC and founder of the Women of Color Empowerment Institute.  “It is an honor and a privilege to celebrate the women in our community who not only fought for women’s rights and equality in the past but who continue to foster a love for business, philanthropy, culture and the arts,” said Patricia Zeiler, executive director of History Fort Lauderdale. “Women’s History Month places a timely spotlight on female contributions and we’re proud to showcase these leaders of yesterday and today in collaboration with The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale.”
