Florida is well known around the world for its popularity with tourists. The state welcomed nearly 113 million tourists in 2016 which makes it the most popular state in the country for tourism. As residents, we are fortunate to be able to enjoy the weather, the beaches, the shopping, the culture and all the attractions Florida offers. We recently visited Palm Beach and were delighted with the experience. So were approximately 7 million people that visited the area last year.
There are numerous hotels to choose from in Palm Beach and we chose the Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach as our escape. We wanted to be on the beach, and since we traveled on a holiday we wanted an intimate hotel where we could enjoy relaxing by the beach, reading, and simply being together. Four Seasons had a diverse group of people staying at the resort: there were families, singles and couples, so the mix made the experience perfect. If there is one outstanding thing about the hotel it is the incredible service that each member of the Four Seasons staff delivers with genuine enthusiasm.
We were fortunate enough to book a beachfront cabana for our entire stay. The cabanas provide shade, a ceiling fan, comfortable lounge chairs, curtains to assist in blocking direct sun when needed, and excellent service. There are only a few cabanas available so this should be booked when making your hotel reservation. Both the pool area and the beach feature comfortable lounge chairs, umbrellas and food and beverage service.
The cabanas are also available for a romantic private dinner for two overlooking the ocean, with optional flowers and live music. If you are traveling as a family, you may want to consider a family dinner in a cabana and Four Season will customize your menu to accommodate your personal taste.
Steps away from the pool and patio area is AB&G Restaurant. This outdoor restaurant is available for lunch and offers a sunset menu. The restaurant offers a variety of entrees and daily specials. We were delighted with our seafood entrée and we were surprised to see so many international items on the menu. AB&G is the only beachfront restaurant on the island and is popular with guests and local residents, so make sure you put your name on the list and don’t be surprised if there is a slight wait on weekends. The restaurant also offers a Lobster Bake on Saturday nights and reservations are recommended.
In addition to AB&G Restaurant, there is a poolside menu and also a beach menu to choose from, both offering different items, so depending on where you plan to lunch you have four choices at the Four Seasons Resort.
Graze Restaurant provides both indoor and outdoor dining and was closed during our stay but the menu is available outdoors at Jove Kitchen & Bar. This outdoor area overlooks the pool and patio area and the menu includes a selection of salads, charcuterie and cheese boards, as well as fresh local Florida entrees.
Jové Kitchen & Bar offers a modern take on fresh Italian cuisine and the chefs pride themselves on making everything from scratch, including the pasta, pizza, risotto and bread. The menu offers a variety of fish, meat and variations of sauces. There is a large selection of appetizers, entrees and desserts for guests to choose from. Chef Luca is from Tuscany, Italy and is proud of this diverse and authentic menu. Foodies can choose from the Chef’s Tasting Menu which includes four courses: soup, pasta, choice of entrée and dessert perfectly portioned with or without wine pairings. Four Seasons also offers a Sunday Brunch.
In order to enjoy your stay without the guilt of all those extra pounds, guests can take advantage of the 6,000-square foot fitness center. The fitness center is fully equipped with everything you will need to burn off those calories. There are also daily fitness classes and private trainers available.
The 11,000-square foot Spa at Four Seasons features 11 treatment rooms and 3 relaxation rooms. Guests will enjoy complimentary use of the spa’s steam, sauna, whirlpool and relaxation areas. The spa treatments are inspired by both India and Asia. Complimentary bicycles and snorkel gear are available. The resort also has water sports activities including paddleboards, wave runners, surfboards, catamarans, and a banana boat.
Palm Beach is known for its luxury lifestyle and Four Seasons is ideally located to galleries, Worth Avenue, museums, restaurants, and West Palm Beach, but we never left the resort. We simply enjoyed what Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach offers. The perfect “Escape”.
