Miami and Miami Beach are cities that are all about fashion, fun and glamour. It is one of the top tourist destinations in the world, so we as South Floridians have the opportunity to enjoy the magic of the area as often as we want. As a native Miamian, I still consider Miami
my home so I like to visit Miami and Miami Beach as often as I can. This past month we decided to spend a weekend in Miami and visit some of our favorite places. We stayed at a new hotel which was highly recommended to us, Faena Hotel Miami Beach. It is named after the developer, a former fashion designer from Argentina. The hotel was ranked #1 in the United States by Conde Nast Travelers 2017 Readers Choice Awards.
This hotel is located a little north of South Beach on Collins Avenue. It’s a convenient location to just about everything we planned to see and do. This luxury hotel is extremely unique and glamorous. The lobby area has stunning murals of jungles, animals and vibrant colors on the wall that depict the theme of the hotel. You really have to see it to understand its beauty. Guests are greeted in an area just off the lobby to check-in. The rooms and suites are stunning and comfortable.
The design of the 169-room hotel was conceived by Alan Faena and highlights the golden age of old-world glamour combined with Miami’s Art Deco appeal. The hotel features a selection of bars and lounges, both inside and oceanfront. The Saxony Bar is a great place to enjoy a cocktail and it is named after the hotel previously set on this piece of paradise on Miami Beach. Faena also has a theater offering nightly
live-entertainment and artistic performances. Our favorite restaurant was Los Fuegos by Francis Mallmann, with an open-fire kitchen influenced by South American cooking. The food and the service were outstanding. We fell in love with The Living Room, which is a great gathering spot featuring
small plates, a full-service bar and beautiful décor. The animal theme is seen throughout, and the sculptures are captivating.
If you enjoy our beautiful weather this time of the year, you will also enjoy the patio bar off the lobby that has comfortable seating overlooking a beautiful fountain and a mammoth.
There is an outdoor pool with a bar, in addition to the beach area with beach service to enjoy. The beach overlooks the blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean and, unlike many beaches, is not over-crowded due to its unique location.
For those who like to be pampered, the Tierra Santa Healing House is the first South American spa in the United States designed for rejuvenation and relaxation, and also features an oceanfront fitness center with Technogym equipment and mind-body classes.
Besides the luxury and beauty of the resort one of its best assests is the staff. The attention to detail and the service is remarkable. Not only are they well trained, but they truly enjoy making guests feel comfortable and do everything possible to exceed your expectations. On the first day of our stay, many of the staff knew us by our name.
