2019 Crockett Foundation Family Health And Community Festival.
The Crockett Foundation’s Family and Health Community Festival was held at Blanche Ely High School in Pompano Beach. The Festival is one of Broward County’s largest school-supply donation events and takes place every year in August. It is attended every year by more than 2,500 students and their families. The Festival provides backpacks (filled with school supplies) and shoes. It also offers free physical exams, free immunizations, and free haircuts, all in a progressive circuit-style setting. To participate, families are required to visit at least three stations (and have their passport card signed) to get a pair of sneakers, backpack and uniform, all at no cost. The Crockett Foundation, which is a Broward County-based non-profit organization, has positively impacted the lives of thousands of children since its inception in 2002. Its after-school programs focus on math, reading, health and technology for middle-school students. With the help of generous sponsors, it has helped more than 1,000 students graduate from high school with better grades and a more positive outlook on life.
