Ann Marie Dunn Honored With Heart, Soul, & Service Award,
Celebrating Women In The Community
Ann Marie Dunn of J.R. Dunn Jewelers was honored alongside Rachel Wheeler for the Heart, Soul, and Service Award by the Zonta Club of Greater Deerfield Beach. The club is a part of Zonta International, an international organization of executives and professionals making strides to advance the status of women, locally and world-wide, through service and advocacy. Their Fourth Annual Cabaret Brunch took place at the Boca West Country Club on Sunday, March 11th honoring the two women.
Empowering women in business is something that has always been incredibly important to Ann Marie. She had to firsthand overcome the difficulties of being a woman in the business world, first immigrating from Abruzzi, Italy as a young girl and teaching herself and her family English. She pushed through the odds of success in business as a woman during her career at IBM until eventually founding what is now one of the first successful omni-channel luxury jewelers, J.R. Dunn Jewelers. Alongside her husband Jim, Ann Marie has always been active in giving back to the community, together raising over $2.2 million dollars for The Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward County, Food for the Poor, and other local charities and causes.
Guests enjoyed brunch, silent auctions, and comedic entertainment by the amazing Woody Woodbury. Funds raised at the brunch benefit the Zonta Club’s $25,000 scholarship program for non-traditional students at Broward College for women re-enrolling in the workplace and in need of financial assistance.
